The Economist recently released an interactive map under the heading "Stats of the Union", featuring several measures of the United States ranging from unemployment rates to measurements of the under-18 population. At the national level, averages from each state appear underneath the map. For certain measures, clicking on the desired state will produce a breakdown of the chosen measure.
Along with this map, The Economist summarizes that the unemployment rate has stabilized, with nineteen states recording decreases. Despite the shrinking national economy (of .1% in last year's fourth quarter), personal income has increased in all states, and all but eight saw increases in their state economy.
