The Villainy of Roman Polanski

A 30+ year fugitive from justice, a child rapist, has finally been apprehended in Switzerland. Hurrah we proclaim!!!

Roman Polanski, a mostly European filmmaker, was arrested in Switzerland a week ago at the request of U.S. authorities arising from a 1978 plea bargain in which he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of "unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor." Polanski had been hiding in France where the U.S. couldn't extradite him due to his citizenship and French authorities were (unbelievably) unwilling to cooperate. Public awareness of Polanski's crime was revived by the Jan 2008 Utah-based Sundance Film Festival documentary, "Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired".

Polanski's victim, 13-year-old Samantha Gailey, testified she was drugged with a mixture of champagne and Methaqualone (a now-banned sedative abused by the hippie generation). She was participating in a photo shoot but 44-year old Polanski wanted more. She resisted him by declaring "NO!" at each advance but in the end Polanski raped and sodomized her.

Polanski needs to stand trial in the U.S. He should be convicted of (1) his admitted statutory rape and (2) his unlawful flight outside the U.S. and fugitive activities to avoid justice. themostsearched believes that "rotting in jail" would be a just sentence for this criminal.

Furthermore pending Polanski's expected conviction, we call upon the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) to formally strip Polanski of the 2002 Award for Best Director given to him in absentia. Polanski dismerits this award as he should have been locked up instead of evading justice in France.

Finally, we warn the group of Hollywood radicals donning "free Polanski" pins that such a position is untenable with American justice and is deplorable. We reject you and your films along with Polanski when you advocate an evasion from legal accountibility and accuse you of supporting the cause of child molestation. While we hold that Polanski is "innocent until proven guilty" his own admission and breaking of the law merits being held accountable. Polanski's freedom ended when he took away freedom from Samantha Gailey.
