MORE BILLIONS FOR EUROKLEPTOCRATS TO SQUANDER AROUND

EU Budget Commissioner Janusz Lewandowskiwelcomes today's vote by the European Parliament on draft amending budget 6 (€2.7 billion to compensate for lower than expected customs duties as a source of revenue to the EU budget).

"We have avoided the risk of the EU ceasing payments to legitimate beneficiaries of EU funds, at least for the time being. It is an on-going battle to correct years of under budgeting and to avoid serious damage to tens of thousands of regions, towns, scientists, businesses, students and NGOs across Europe.

The postponement of the vote on a separate request for a top up to budget 2013 (draft amending budget 8) meant we would not have been able to mobilise the necessary additional resources before January 2014. Therefore, yes we needed this €2.7bn in revenue and we needed it now. We needed it in order to reimburse claims emanating from those beneficiaries of EU funds, in order to avoid creating financial problems to them. They rightly enough expect the EU to honour its commitments to contribute to infrastructure, business or research projects launched years ago.

The European Parliament and the Member States have been aware of this situation for a long time. I have repeatedly underlined that the EU would have to cease paying its bills linked to cohesion policy and rural development from November on unless a top up was agreed to. The same way I have warned both the European Parliament and Member States for years now that we cannot go on like this with heads of states and governments asking the EU to embrace more and more competencies while their finance ministers constantly cut the EU budget.

We are now on safer ground, but only for a few weeks. We absolutely need the adoption of draft amending budget 8 for €3.9bn in November to cover all our legal obligations towards beneficiaries of EU funds, and to finalise the agreement on the next financial period (MFF 2014-2020)."

Cecilia Malmstroem points out corruption is a phenomenon which is difficult to tackle, and at the same time a problem we cannot afford to ignore.  Corruption can severely affect the economy and society at large. It erodes trust in public institutions and political processes, and undermines the healthy functioning of markets and competition. It negatively affects already tight public budgets, and helps organized crime groups do their dirty work.

Malmstroem laments the scale of the problem is very serious.  A trillion euros are lost each year to corruption in the 27 Member States of the EU. In public procurement, studies suggest that a quarter of the public contracts’ value is lost to corruption.  Civil society, international organizations, such as the Council of Europe and the OECD, media and other stakeholders have stressed, again and again, the importance of preventing and prosecuting corruption.

In recent years, the financial crisis put stronger focus on making sure that taxpayers' money is not wasted through corruption or other financial mismanagement. Still, deep-rooted corruption is a part of reality in many countries. It varies in nature and extent from one Member State to the other, but it affects all of us.

Malmstroem notes European citizens are fully aware, and concerned, about this. In February last year the Commission published a special Eurobarometer survey on European citizens' attitudes towards corruption: three out of four EU citizens see corruption as a major problem in their country. Almost half of all Europeans believe that the level of corruption in their country increased in the past three years.

It is, therefore, not a surprise that fighting corruption has become a priority for many politicians, both at EU and national level in recent years. However, there is still a long way from declared intentions to concrete results.  Anticorruption rules are not vigorously enforced and one does not find many strong examples of how systemic problems related to corruption are effectively tackled.

Eurokleptocrats, surrender! Give yourselves up!  You are surrounded by the people of Europe. Come out of Berlaymont with your hands up! No one will hurt you. Your time is up. Don’t meddle with luck that has been on your side until now. Now when Europeans are talking about things out in the streets, they talk about you in the past, as though you were ghosts. When you appear on TV, you trigger off insults. What is astounding is your mad insistence in not stepping aside as though you were entrusted with a divine malevolence.

There’s something pathological in that. Something that needs the intervention of a psychiatrist, but there’s also something sad, like the performance of an old man without a voice, and unsteady on his legs, playing the part designed for a young actor or like the song Memory performed by the Cats: Touch me, it's so easy to leave me, all alone with the memory of my days in the sun.

SHAME ON GREECE!
THE KLEPTOCRATIC ALLIANCE OF PASOK MAFIA AND NEA DEMOCRATIA MAFIA SHOULD NOT PRESIDE EU
THE FREAKISH GOVERNMENT OF GREECE STOLE MY COMPUTER, MY FILES, AND MY LIFE IN COLD BLOOD

Most Europeans find corruption to be a major problem in Fourth Reich.  Brussels and Athens, Sodom and Gomorrah of Europe, refuse to change. Squandering and corruption are out of control. Cameron makes a special target of the sixty thousand employees at EU institutions. More than three hundred EU employees earn more than Cameron. Brussels and Athens continue to exist in parallel universes.

Squandering taxpayers’ hard-earned money, EU institutions have cellars stocked with a hundred thousand bottles of the most expensive wine! The European Council is building a new Europa headquarters right next door to its existing marble-and-glass building, at a cost of a billion euros. Five percent of spending in the last EU budget is fraudulent. EU civil servants get huge salaries, generous health and pension benefits, and free private education for their children in elite schools.

Eurocrats fill their pockets with high salaries and perks. A European Commissioner earns thirty thousand euros per month, huge fringe benefits, and God only knows of his bribes. A resigned European Commissioner earns a retirement allowance of ten thousand euros per month, and much more from pullpeddling.

The European Commission is very corrupt.  For example, Health Commissioner John Dalli had sought a huge bribe from a Swedish producer of oral tobacco, called snus, in order for Dalli to lift an EU ban on the product. Most notably in 1999, an independent group of experts found all commissioners to be extremely corrupt, and as a result President Jacques Santer and his entire commission were forced to resign!

Eurokleptocrats receive vacations, gifts, favors, bribes, and kickbacks in exchange for corpfare, favorable legislation, and shortcuts.  Nigel Farage requested that the European Commission disclose where individual Commissioners had spent their holidays, which the Commission rejected in panic. Barroso spent a week on the yacht of Graecoon Spiros Latsis only a month before the Commission approved corpfare for the company of Latsis!

Robbing the EU treasury is so prevalent that the European Commission refers to it by the euphemism of budget errors. So don’t worry if you stole fifty million euros, it was just a budget error!  ECB will just print extra euros, and all the rest of us will be stuck with devalued euros in our hands.  Our vows to EU hold for poorer and misery.

Unelected socialist Whig Catherine Ashton, high representative of cronyism, has appointed many socialist failed MPs to top positions and sinecures. The socialist mafia of EU always manages to accomodate the unelectable socialist politicians with top positions in EU offices.  A socialist MP who cannot be reelected in his home country is supported by the socialist mafia of EU to find a high paying EU position which also generates many bribes and kickbacks.

A Member of the European Parliament gets fifteen thousand euros per month. It is very shocking that a large number of MEPs earn an average additional income of ten thousand euros per month in all sorts of extra jobs, and God only knows of their bribes.

MEP Ernst Strasser has been charged in Vienna with corruption.  Strasser is one of many MEPs caught up in cash-for-laws scandals. Strasser was accused of bribe-taking after a 15-month investigation spanning five countries, in which Austrian authorities questioned 90 people, carried out house searches and examined various bank accounts. He was sentenced to four years in prison.

Strasser asked for a 100,000 euro annual kickback in exchange for influencing EU legislation in the European Parliament (EP), aka Eldorado of Prostitutes. The indictment was triggered by the Sunday Times investigation, in which two journalists posing as pullpeddlers met Strasser and other MEPs.  Strasser and Slovenian MEP Zoran Thaler resigned after the revelations. A third, Romanian MEP Adrian Severin, was expelled from the center-left Socialists and Democrats (S&D) bloc in the parliament, but remains an independent MEP.

One popular haunt of Eurokleptocrats is the Treviso Hotel on Place Stephanie in the expensive and trendy Ixelles area of Brussels. The love hotel bills itself as a venue for couples with room service and discretion assured in glamorous rooms rented out at 100 euros an hour.

Anne De Schepper, the hotel's manager, points out the long lunch break is the preferred time of day for her clientele of Eurokleptocrats to commit adultery, courtesy of pullpeddlers.  Eurokleptocrats are 80 per cent of Treviso Hotel’s business, most of it paid by pullpeddlers. Unlike the traditional hotel industry, Treviso Hotel has not experienced the economic crisis thanks to Eurokleptocrats and pullpeddlers.  Treviso Hotel is busiest at lunch time, followed by early evening in between the end of office hours and the time Eurokleptocrats need to get back to their spouses.

Eurokleptocrats are told to beware the charms of Mata Hari type sirens trading sex for Fourth Reich secrets and business. The European Commission circulates a memorandum warning that middle-aged Eurokleptocrats are particularly susceptible to long legs and blonde hair!

BERLAYMONT, FOURTH REICH'S CAMELOT!

We're commissars of Barroso's Round Table.
We work whenever we're able.
We bush-patrol in our offices
Whenever partners are available.
We dine well here in Berlaymont
Champagne and caviar are always available.

Commissioning on your behalf
Squander your hard-earned euros.
There is a huge flow of kickbacks
That is always acceptable.
Rabblerousers come to Berlaymont.
Pullpeddlers cheer this Camelot.

For dolce vita we junket our PIGS,
For money we junket our North.
We laugh and get our kicks
God bless our beloved Berlaymont!

The Greek presidency of EU must be annulled, because the kleptocratic alliance of Pasok mafia and Nea Democratia mafia cannot be trusted.  The freakish government of Greece stole my computer, my files, and my life in cold blood!  Basil Venitis, venitis@gmail.com, http://themostsearched.blogspot.com @Venitis
