President Packer conducted the service, while Elder Russell M. Nelson made an unannounced appearance. (At least he wasn't on the printed program.)

Sister Packer also spoke briefly.
President Packer promised to return in two years' time, for the dedication, even, he said, if he was getting older.President Packer gave the prayer, called on the powers of heaven for protection of the members of the temple district and then, ceremoniously turned the ground.

A large painting of the temple was also unveiled.
Here is a close up of how the temple will look.
The Stake Presidents, current and former got a chance to turn the ground also. Our Stake President, Robert Davis, of the Brigham City Stake (second from the left, with a shovel) was also there.
Then, everyone else got a chance to turn the dirt.
It was a memorable morning!
