In a recent report of the Gallup survey, “Work and Education Survey,” by Frank Newport, it was found that “young men and women value their careers similarly which is different than older men and women.” The annual survey was conducted August 7-11, 2013, by cell or landline telephones, of a random sample of 1,039 adults who were employed either full or part time, and lived in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. A little more than half of American workers (54%) said that it is “extremely or very important” that they advance in their careers over time, with young workers (67%) much more likely to say so than those who are older (30%).
